賢者の選択 (Kenja no Sentaku)

AvePoint’s CEO & Co-Founder TJ is interviewed on ‘Kenja no Sentaku’ (賢者の選択) or ‘The Choice of Gifted Leaders’ about the history, growth, and direction of the company. As a part of this segment, I had a short feature on the importance of culture-building in the Tokyo office for camaraderie and knowledge sharing, such as “Happy Hour” on Fridays. While this seems like is a common feature of Western offices, introducing it to the Tokyo office was an unusual break from tradition in Japan where business and ‘nomikai’ (after-work happy hours, which are not part of business hours and often require obligations long into after-hours) are commonly clearly separated.
