How Microsoft Copilot Helped Me Stay Organized at Gartner’s IT Symposium!

This week at Gartner’s IT Symposium in Orlando, Microsoft Copilot has been a complete game-changer for keeping me organized! 🙌 Conferences are packed with valuable insights, but capturing and summarizing everything while on-the-move can be overwhelming.

I’ve been using Copilot every day—across desktop, mobile, and even with voice-to-text—to collect all my notes from sessions, meetings, and booth visits. What’s amazing is how Copilot turns scattered notes into clean, organized summaries, making it easy to share insights with my team and leadership. Plus, since Copilot works within my organization (not out on the web), it keeps everything secure.

Have you used Copilot for conferences or events like this? I’ll share some prompts below of what worked for me.

Would love to hear your thoughts!

If you’re interested in the prompts I used, here are some examples:

==== Getting Started:

Im at the Gartner Symposium IT conference this week in Orlando FL. At the end of this conference, I will need to provide an update to my management, such as: which sessions I went to, what my takeaways were, and which analysts I met with. What I would like to do, is keep feeding you information as-it-happens, either summaries, notes or slides, so you can absorb it all like a sponge, and then wait for me – at some point in the future – I will ask you for a recap of this thread. Sound good?

==== Session Notes:

Tues 12:30pm, Tori Paulman had session “Key Trends in Digital Employee Experience You Can’t Ignore”

Here are my notes:

Productivity gains have been flattening in the US.
Role of workers changing from just solving a prolem with a tech, but becoming a business expert who is using tech to solve their own business issues.
Productivity needs Ambition and Skills, with Ambition being the most important.
(etc)

==== Meeting Notes:

just met John Smith at lunch. He works at Consoto Limited, and wanted to connect later on Data Securit in M365.

==== Asking for Daily Summary:

ok, end of day 1, could you do a quick bullet-point summary of everything. i dont need explanations and details, just an overview: list of sessions attended in order, attendees I engaged with, and a few other notes on sponsor options, attendee experience, competitors, and anything else i missed asking for from my notes.
